The soccer ball is standard size (8.75″ diameter). It’s made from 20 hexagons of lacewood, and 12 pentagons of wenge. The photoshopped image of a soccer player doing a header is tongue-in-cheek!
The baseball is also standard size. A friend, the father-in-law of a famous professional baseball player, challenged me to see if I could build one. Choosing ash wood, I used the CNC router to build two pieces that fit together. This was then turned on a lathe. The inlaid stitches (all 108 of them!) were individually inlaid using bloodwood. The MLB logo was also a challenge due to the small size and also being done on a curved surface. It uses bloodwood and ebony.

By the way, just kidding about the photo with the soccer player. Headers are are not recommended when using wooden soccer balls!
